Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has welcomed a break from the heavy schedule of the Premier League.
The league gets a two-week break due to international action. Even though a big club like Arsenal have a number of players going out on international duty, there will be a number of players who get a well-deserved break. After all, the team put behind their recent poor run of form to get a 2-0 win against Everton. The win keeps them in the race with Leicester City and Tottenham according to the defender. However, Leicester are already 11 points ahead in the table.
Many feel that Arsenal are pursuing a title that is already lost. Bellerin thinks otherwise and expects teams to drop points in the remaining eight games. For Arsenal to take advantage of those dropped points, the club needs to be in a strong position. Since Arsenal do not have any other distractions from now till the end of the season,Bellerin wants a focused title challenge. He says that it is not be on the possibility for a top team like Arsenal to go on a winning run of eight matches. Bellerin has gone from being an unknown a few years ago to put himself as one of the important defenders at Arsenal.
“The team put on a great performance, especially in the first half with two great goals. That gave us the chance to relax a little bit in the second half. I think the team has had more purpose with the ball lately and we are playing better football and that is showing on the pitch because we have to defend less, because we are keeping the ball and creating way more chances. It is a great time to go on the international break after a win,” said the 21-year-old Spanish international.
