Thierry Henry has said that he would love to play for Arsenal again after the completion of his contract with New York Red Bulls. Henry’s contract with the Bulls will get completed after 18 months and the French striker might return to England again in 2014. Henry had played for Arsenal for 8 years between 1999 and 2007. Arsenal had bought him from Juventus after paying a contract fee of 11 million pounds in August 1999. Henry’s 5 year tenure at Arsenal was wonderful. Before joining Arsenal, he was not renowned all over the world. But, he showed his abilities while playing for the Arsenal team. He emerged as a superstar for Arsenal and scored a number of goals for the club.
Henry wasn’t able to make a good start to his Arsenal career. He didn’t score even a single goal in his first eight games for Arsenal. But, Arsenal’s coach, Arsene Wenger had full confidence in Henry’s abilities and he gave him regular opportunities to play. Henry didn’t let his coach down and started delivering for the club. In his debut season, he scored 26 goals for Arsenal. Henry made continuous improvements in his game and emerged as one of the greatest players in the Arsenal history. He featured for Arsenal in 369 games and scored 226 goals for the club. On being asked about his current club, Henry said that it took him some time to settle in the Bulls team, but, now, he has gelled with the guys nicely and he is enjoying his stay here in USA.
Henry had played for his old club Arsenal on loan at the start of this year. On being asked about his 2 month loan period at Arsenal, Henry said that he was practicing with the Arsenal squad at that time. Two important players of Arsenal were not in the team due to their national duties. So, Wenger requested him to play and he decided to spend the MLS off season playing for his old club.
