The former French international Thierry Henry had two spells at Arsenal during which time he has been hugely successful, while he has been regarded as a legend at the club. He is currently the record goalscorer and there have been suggestions that the club would be willing to bring him back on a loan deal for a third spell. Thierry Henry is currently with the MLS club New York Red Bulls, but spent first two months of the last year on loan at Arsenal during which time he broke the record of the most number of goals scored by any player for the club.
Hence, there were suggestions that the manager Wenger will be interested in the possibility of bringing him back to the club on another loan deal. He has been training with the club in the last few weeks in order to maintain his fitness during the MLS off-season. However, Wenger ruled out the possibility of Henry returning to club for a third spell by saying that he does not the transfer to take place. Instead, the club will be looking at other alternatives by looking to bring in players on a permanent basis. Arsenal have once again started scoring goals after a struggle during the months of October and November.
“I think Thierry goes away somewhere. He is not ready. He has just come back from holiday so at the moment we are not on that case. It’s nothing to do with fatigue. I think maybe before, we scored seven against Newcastle and we scored five at Reading … we [thought we would] score again today. We didn’t create enough chances. I felt that we lacked sharpness and desire,” said Wenger after the 1-1 draw with Southampton. As a result, Arsenal are outside the top four positions at the moment.
